Winged Liberty Head Mercury Dime 1944 Mintmark S Grade EF - Considered by many to be one of the most beautiful US coins ever produced, Winged Liberty Head dimes or more commonly Mercury dimes do not depict the Roman messenger god, nor does it contain any mercury. It pictures Liberty with a winged cap on the obverse and two sheaves of wheat on the reverse. Of particular interest to numismatists is the condition of the horizontal bands tying together the bundle on the reverse.
