1 Cent US Coins - Penny

Collecting US coins is fun! Originally called small cents, one cent coins are very popular collectible coins, especially among kids! It is relatively easy to assemble a penny collection by date and mint marks as old pennies can be found in circulation from time to time. Not every issue is a copper penny, various metals have been used over the years in these small cents coins. US pennies issued over the years include:

Flying Eagle Cents 1856-1858
Indian Head Penny 1859-1864 Copper-Nickel Cents
Indian Head Penny 1864-1909 Bronze Cents
Lincoln Penny 1909-Current (also called wheat penny for the reverse)
